Long before Melania Trump married Donald Trump, she was a working model. The first lady even dropped her study at the University of Ljubljana after one year to pursue a career in modeling.

Despite the fact that Melania didn’t reach the status of the A-list supermodel, she managed to grace the covers of several popular fashion magazines. She even posed nude in 2000 for GQ magazine. Melania worked with such well-known photographers as Helmut Newton and Patrick Demarchelier.

Taking into account Melania’s significant experience in the modeling industry, here comes a simple question: Why hasn’t she been featured on the cover of any fashion magazine since becoming the first lady?

What about the former first lady, Michelle Obama?

Unlike Melania Trump, the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, graced the covers of 12 fashion magazines since her husband Barack came to the office.

Michelle appeared on the covers of the popular magazines Vogue, Glamour, Instyle, Radar, Time, and several others. Moreover, fashion designers have been lining up to dress her for the past 8 years, turning her into real fashion icon of America.

After Michelle wore a dress by relatively unknown designer Jason Wu to her husband's inauguration, the designer became one of the fashion world's most well-known figures.

Today, Melania Trump could, no doubt, impress numerous fashion critics by her appearance on the covers of the popular magazines. Too bad, FLOTUS decided to stay aside from the fashion industry. But the good news is that Melania is now focused on more important tasks and her main responsibilities of the first lady.
