She first met her husband in late 1960 through Andrew’s younger brother, Simon Andrew Parker-Bowles. Andrew was a young Guards officer and a lieutenant in the Blues Royals.

However, their relationship was hardly stable. They dated on and off for several years until 1970 when Andrew began dating Princess Anne, the daughter of Queen Elizabeth I.

By 1973, Camilla and Andrew were back together and announced their engagement the same year. The wedding took place at the Guard’s Chapel in Wellington Barracks, on July 4, 1973.

Hundreds of guests were invited to the ceremony and at the time, it was considered the "society wedding of the year." Members of the royal family, including the Queen and even Princess Anne, attended.

In January 1995, Camilla and Andrew were divorced. Their joint statement claims "different interests" as the reason for the split. They were together for 21 years. Camilla later got married to Prince Charles on April 9, 2005.

She had children before joining the royal family

Camilla’s first child is Tom Parker-Bowles. He was born on December 18, 1974, and Prince Charles also happens to be his godfather.

Tom got married to Sara Buys, a fashion editor in 2005. The wedding was well attended, and his step-brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry, were present.

Tom and Sara have two children, Lola and Freddy. They got divorced in January 2018.

Apart from being connected to royalty, Tom is a very busy man. The author and a professional restaurant critic has made several contributions to Tatler, GQ, and Esquire magazines. So far, he has six cookbooks to his name.

Tom’s younger sister is Laura Lopes. Born on January 1, 1978, she works as a curator and a gallery director. In 2006, she got married to chartered accountant and former Calvin Klein underwear model, Harry Lopes.

Laura has three children, Eliza, born in 2008, and twins Gus and Louis, born in 2009. Little Eliza made the news in 2011 when she served as a bridesmaid at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.

Neither Tom nor Laura is anywhere close to being as popular as their step-siblings, Prince William and Prince Harry. Still, they enjoy their own fair share of attention, thanks to their mother, the Duchess of Cornwall.

They also do not enjoy any royal privileges as they bear no blood relation to the British monarchy.

Will they be at the royal wedding?

It is well known that the step-siblings enjoy a cordial relationship. However, there is no confirmation yet if they will be attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

Information regarding invitations has been under wraps as the palace only shared pictures of the cards without addresses. Speculation is high that Tom and Laura will be in attendance.

Prince William and Prince Harry traveled several thousand miles to Wiltshire village of Lacock in 2006 when Laura got married. Clearly, they hold their step-siblings in high regard.

It only follows that Prince Harry would extend the same courtesy to his step-siblings as Laura did.
