26-Year-Old Shay Sharpe, Diagnosed With Breast Cancer, Turned Into An Influential President Of Activists Organization And A Stunning Model

She couldn’t realize she had cancer at 26. She couldn’t perceive her life after dealing with the condition. She felt completely broke when the disease came back to her at 36. Now, Shay Sharpe is a happy mother, cheerful activist, and a stunning model who proves that you can be beautiful even without your breast.

Breast cancer holds the first place for the number of deaths in the US. While the amount of lethal outcomes is decreasing, the statistics are still horrifying.

Over 266,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer on various stages. Moreover, more than 40,000 of ill are going to die in 2018. The average age of detecting the condition is 45 while the instances of the disease can be found from 15-year-old to 65-year-old ones.

However, breast cancer is not a verdict. Though the fight is challenging, there is life after it, and Shay Sharpe is a great example.

26-year-old mother didn’t realize that it is possible to be diagnosed with breast cancer so young. She was not going to make a mammogram until 40, so the unfortunate condition took her by surprise.

She felt lonely; she didn’t know what to do.

She underwent chemotherapy and radiation, and luckily found a group of women who supported the diagnosed patients. She began to feel stronger and succeeded in overcoming the disease. Shay even managed to preserve her breast where the cancer was diagnosed.

However, ten years after the first lump had been found, Mrs. Sharpe was told she had another one in another breast. She was too exhausted for chemotherapy, so she underwent huge doses of radiation. She removed her breasts permanently and decided to stay flat.

She won. She managed to stay strong enough, and now her task is to motivate others to try to deal with the disease and never give up.

In 2011, she founded a non-profit organization which educates, supports, and grants wishes to kids and young women who have been affected by breast cancer. Shay is a person to be admired forever.

Women are obliged to conduct a regular check-up in order to secure themselves from an unwilling illness. They should understand that the earlier the cancer is detected, the easier it will be to deal with it. The lesson is clear – you should not wait until 40 to conduct your first mammogram. It is never late to start your fight with cancer. However, the earlier you understand your position, the easier it will be for you to get rid of the annoying problem.
