Charlize Theron Who Is A Mom Of Trans Daughter, On How She Teaches Her Kids To Live A Life Of Truth: "We Kind Of Live By Our Religion"

As a mother of a trans daughter, Charlize Theron unwaveringly supports her child.

Charlize's transgender child

Charlize's eldest, Jackson, stated at the age of three that she was not a boy. The loving mother, however, accepted this fact without hesitation.

“So there you go!”

Theron explained.

“I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any other parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive. They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”

Although Charlize's parenting choice was highly criticized by many, she seems no to care about it at all. The star mom believes there’s nothing dangerous or abusive about loving your child for who they are. Trans children are not a fad.

Lessons Charlize teaches her kids

Charlize, in fact, has given her daughter a gift. Jackson will never grow up having to painfully hide who she is until she’s old enough to transition on her own. Moreover, she teaches her children what’s important in life.

For Charlize, who herself “grew up in a country where people lives with half-truths and lies and whispers”, it is imperative for her kids to live a life of truth and that's exactly why she teaches them.

Likewise, the actress admitted that "a big thing" for her is "kindness",

“We kind of live by our religion, which [says], ‘Do unto others the way you want to be done to you.’ We’re big on respect and thinking about others before we think about ourselves.”

Charlize’s parenting approach also received praise from New York City-based therapist Tanya Koifman.

Appreciating the actress, Koifman said in an interview,

“It is so wonderful when celebrities such as Charlize openly not only accept, but embrace, their child for who they are. When people see celebrities embracing their transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming children, it sends the right message to the public, and it can help lead to greater visibility and acceptance, and hopefully a safer existence for transgender people.”

Koifman went on to talk about why visibility makes a difference in the lives of trans people.

“The more parents who stand proudly, with unwavering support beside their trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming kids, the more it normalises the many identities and experiences,”

- she explained.

And we can't agree more! So many children fear their parent won't love them if they will reveal the truth about their inner feelings.

It's extremely important to be supportive of our children and let them know we love them unconditionally, just like Charlize did! The mother-of-2 deserves the utmost respect for her beliefs and that she isn't afraid to openly speak about them. Hopefully, this will serve as a positive example for many parents all over the world!
