They sang "Rockin' Years"

In his honor, the family opted for a private memorial service in Tennessee and performed his song Rockin' Years together to say goodbye to him.

This was confirmed in a statement to People in which the family thanked well-wishers for the outpouring of love they had received.

They urged that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the My People Senior Activity Center in Sevierville.

Dolly, and the entire Parton Family, wish to thank everyone for their kindness. Yesterday, we laid our sweet baby brother to rest. We all sang his lovely song, ‘Rockin’ Years,’ together as a family at the service to say goodbye to him. He lived a short life of love and beautiful songs.

Partons minus 1

The Partons, a family of eleven (now ten) are close-knit and known for being singers. The baby of the family, Rachel Dennison, has said in the past that they were all encouraged to sing by their late mom.

Performing Rockin' Years together was a fitting and a touching tribute. Floyd Parton will always be remembered by his loving siblings!
