Food is expensive. If you are the one who does the grocery shopping, you know that this is one of the highest costs related to your home and family. While completely eliminating your bill is something that might not be possible, you can downsize it by growing certain foods yourself.
Here is a list of 5 fragrant vegetables and herbs that you can grow right in your kitchen!
1. Mint (fragrant and peppermint)

Peppermint has powerful healing properties because it contains menthol, which has a beneficial effect on irritated and inflamed mucous organs of the digestive tract and respiratory tract. All you need to do is place a few fresh stems in the water, and very soon, you will have new sprouts.

Basil is a natural antibiotic. Even if it just grows on your windowsill, you will be protected from infections and colds. It has disinfectant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. Infusion of basil also has the power to reduce the level of bad cholesterol. If your kitchen is warm, basil will grow well.

This fragrant Italian seasoning will be a perfect addition to any dish. Take a few freshly cut stems of oregano and put them in a pot of water. As they grow, you can tear off the leaves for use.
4. Leaf vegetables

Leafy vegetables, such as lettuce and spinach, are best sprouted in water. All you need to do is grow the seeds of these vegetables in mesh containers (you can use gauze dipped in water for that). When the seeds germinate, you can place them into the water.
5. Tomatoes and pepper

The seeds of tomatoes and Bulgarian pepper can also be grown on gauze dipped in water. Use the same technique as with leafy vegetables. Place the germinated seeds in containers filled with water.
Make sure that the water is clean and not chlorinated since chemicals can kill plants. Rainwater is best for this purpose. You should also consider using fertilizers because water can’t give plants all the nutrients that are contained in the soil.
