Mandie Wood decided to start her weight loss journey in 2015. It was the right time to change the life once and forever.

There honestly wasn't any 'aha' moment. I just got tired of feeling invisible all the time. One thing that I don't think a lot of people realize is the larger you are, the more invisible you are to others.

In the beginning, Mandie had a size 28 and weighed 375 pounds. The family doctor advised her to visit the nutritionist, who helped her to identify goals and necessary steps. As a result, she managed to lose 150 pounds in just 2 years.

Mandie used the special application on the phone to track everything she ate.

I follow balanced macros, which for me means that I try to ensure I am getting 35 percent of my calories from carbs, 25 percent of my calories from fat, and 40 percent of my calories from protein.

There are a bunch of new people following me, I think most of you from seeing the @popsugarfitness article (link in my bio of you haven’t read it but are interested). I thought I’d tell you a bit about me! ???? My name is Mandie (Amanda) and I’m 37 years old. I live in Canada, and work in marketing. In the fall of 2015 I decided to focus on my health, lose a bunch of weight and improve my life. I’ve lost 150 pounds so far and don’t have an end goal in mind yet, I’ll figure that out as I get closer. I really just want to keep progressing towards better overall health. I’ve had a lot of success through meal prepping, tracking all my food intake and after the first 9 months, exercising. My main goal is to be balanced. I don’t eliminate ANY food, and I don’t workout every single day. I eat what I crave (but watch my portions, total calories, and ensure I’m getting enough protein) and I workout 4-5 days a week for about an hour. I know a lot of people can lose excess weight faster, but I’m not going for speed. I’m going for a lifelong change in my habits and finding balance in my life. I also focus on small goals instead of the huge obstacle. It makes things more realistic and keeps me motivated. Thanks for following my journey! If I can help you in any way (I’m no expert, and what works for me may not work for you, but I can do what I can to help!), please let me know. ❤️ . . . . #fatloss #fattofit #fat2fit #obesetobeast #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #weightlossblogger #transformationinprogress #f2f #girlswholift #workoutmotivation #mealsharing #countingcalories #weightlosscommunity #healthyhabits #goaldigger #workinprogress #fitlife #extremeweightloss #extremetransformation #facetoface #beforeandafterweightloss #beforeandduring #naturalweightloss #goalsfor2018 #fitstagram #workforchange #aboutme

Of course, sport is good for those people who want to lose some weight. Nevertheless, Mandie didn’t feel comfortable about it in the beginning. She tried the gym only after losing 60 or 70 pounds.

I ended up hiring a personal trainer, which was a great investment! She was able to show me lots of different bodyweight exercises, teach me proper form for different exercises, and overall just gave me so much more confidence in going to the gym.

The hardest thing is to find a balance and build healthy relations with the food.

I will go out for drinks with friends or have a grilled cheese for lunch if that's what I want to do, but I won't do it every day.

They say a photo is worth a thousand words...well the brown pants in the back are what I used to wear. And the pants on top are some pants that I currently wear. On days when I'm frustrated with myself, photos like this provide exactly the perspective I need. I'm not done with this journey yet. My speed has slowed down but I'm still moving forward! . . . #transformationthursday #fatloss #fattofit #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #mealprep #mealprepideas #mealplanning #mealplan #healthy #macros #workoutmotivation #workout #inspired #mealsharing #ideas #countingcalories #wlstories #weightlosscommunity #fat2fit #fattofit #weighlossjourney #extremeweightloss #extremetransformation #countingcalories #workinprogress #betteringmyself

Sometimes, Mandie can’t believe she was so different before.

A few times now, I've been folding the laundry and wondering whose pants are coming out of my dryer before realizing they are actually mine!

Mandie recommends to set mini goals and focus on reaching them.

Keeping it in bite-size chunks makes it not seem as daunting. Five pounds is much more manageable than the 200 pounds I started out looking to lose!

New year, same goals....keep transforming into a healthier, happier version of myself! I don’t always recognize changes in my appearance when I look in the mirror, but the times I do make me smile pretty big. The woman also started an Instagram account to share her story with subscribers. She regularly posts some valuable information about workouts, food, etc.

No one is perfect. You will have days where you want to give up, where you get off track, or where you struggle — that's normal! Just don't give up. Grant yourself grace and get back on track with your next meal or next workout.

So, these are the 3 steps helped her to reach the goal: food, sport, and reasonable goals.

Good job, Mandie!
