Date December 26, 2018

Oscar-winning beauty Sandra Bullock, or Miss Congeniality, as many still call her, is one of the most mysterious celebrities of our time. This woman with great taste and impressive income leads a very modest and, if one can put it that way, almost reclusive life. She rarely shares personal information and lovingly protects her children from excessive attention of the media.

Sandra has always flown below the radar: as a very famous person, she hasn’t been involved in intrigues or scandals. The closest thing to it was a divorce with her husband in 2010. Probably because the media was so focused on the couple’s separation, the actress managed to hide the fact that she became a mother for the first time when she adopted Louis.

The news that the little boy received a sister was no less surprising. The public got to know Laila earlier than Sandra had planned, as according to rumors, she wanted to reveal the secret of the girl’s adoption herself. Bullock is not an active user of social networks – there are precious few photos of her children – and probably because of this, the media’s interest in her personal life has never been greater.

Premiering one of her new films, Ocean's 8, the actress shared some unexpected confessions with Today's reporters. At some point, Sandra doubted that she would ever become a mother; however, after Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, she realized that her child was in the disaster-stricken New Orleans. Louis found his mom a few years later.

However, Sandra thought her family was still incomplete, and baby Louis knew it better than her. Laila is 2 and a half years younger than her brother. The actress adopted her in 2015.

Bullock’s family is multinational: her children are African-Americans born in Louisiana, whom she protects from paparazzi as well as from archaic stereotypes. She elaborated on this in a conversation with People, introducing the new film she stars in, Bird Box. The movie plot is built around a family trying to survive amid post-apocalyptic chaos.

We’re very lucky that we get to live in this moment in time where we get to choose what our family looks like, and I got to do that in real life.

Sandra’s character in Bird Box is a mother of two, pregnant with the third, trying to protect them. According to the actress, this role was both easy and hard, because she’s been doing it in real life as well – protecting her son and daughter.
