Another Mistress For Prince Charles? Was William And Harry’s Nanny More Than Just A Royal Babysitter?

The Royals are always confident about their vows. They must strictly follow the rules and refrain from situations that could compromise and put them in a bad light in front of the public. However, the Buckingham Palace inhabitants are also people, and ordinary emotions aren’t alien to them. That is why the public always knows about any of the royal blunders.
Alexandra "Tiggy" Shan Legge-Bourke is one of the most iconic people in the life of the British royal family of the late 20th century. Did you know that this ordinary (as it turned out, not very ordinary) nanny managed to stand between Prince Charles and Princess Diana?
The story dates back to 1993 when the daughter of a merchant banker and Princess Anne’s maid was appointed governess to Princes William and Harry. Of course, before admitting anyone to the crowned babies, a thorough check was performed. Tiggy passed it brilliantly because she had an excellent reputation, good origin and solid education, received in the Swiss Institut Alpin Videmanette. An interesting fact: Princess Diana also studied there, but only for one semester, dropping out after that. Did this affect her attitude toward the nurse? Let’s just say it hardly added any friendship.
However, there was another important fact – Ms Leggy-Bourke became the royal nanny at 28, and was young and attractive. Many in the palace noted this fact, being fearful that Charles would pay too much attention to the charming babysitter. The Prince’s wife was especially worried since she was prone to burning jealousy. Diana was told to be complaining to others that Camilla Parker-Bowles was needed only for distracting attention, and Tiggy was the Prince’s true love. Rumor had it that the governess of William and Harry even managed to get pregnant from their father, but had an abortion.
The last statement had serious consequences for Diana. Miss Shan Legge-Bourke hired lawyers and demanded an official apology from the Princess of Wales. She didn’t receive them, but Diana started to be more cautious in her statements.
Despite all the intrigues around Tiggy, Harry and William loved her indeed. They were devoted to the caring nanny and, after all, became the godparents of her children. The woman couldn’t wish to achieve more in her life, could she?
What about Charles and Tiggy? Was there anything serious between the two? Did she receive just a thank you for a job well done or there was something more? Was the Princess’ speculation baseless, or did she still feel offended that her husband’s heart didn’t belong only to her? Unfortunately, it will remain behind the reliable walls of the royal palace. We may only speculate.
