Women looking admiringly at handsome actors, often imagining themselves beside them and dreaming about a relationship with them. But men who often play superheroes or lovers break women's hearts coming out as gay. Shock and disappointment...
Gay in life, heartbreaker on screen
So which famous movie actors have come out openly, and along with this, possess a talent for transformation to give a convincing performance of straight lovers?
The actor who played both straight and gay roles in movies was delighted at the decision of the United States Supreme Court in 2015 about legalizing same-sex marriages. Quinto came out about his sexuality even earlier, in 2011. Apparently, he didn't want to be confused with the handsome man he played in the TV series Heroes whom women fell in love with.
The White Collar hero came out of the closet publicly in 2012 during the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards ceremony. And by doing so, he confirmed the guesswork that had been roaming around him for years. He is raising three children with his partner, including twins born by a surrogate mother.
Neil Patrick Harris
Harris frankly declared his sexual orientation in 2006 and just a year later he made a public appearance with his partner, actor and chef David Burtka. They told everyone about their secret wedding only after same-sex marriage was legalized in the state where they reside. The couple has twins, a son and daughter, born by a surrogate. But how well did Harris play his role of a womanizer in the TV series How I Met Your Mother!
The 45-year-old actor with a piercing glance and ripped torso had been hiding his sexuality for years, giving the fans an opportunity to daydream after each new episode of TV series Prison Break. The truth was revealed suddenly when Miller wanted to explain the reason why he refused to take part in an international film festival in Saint Petersburg – Russia passed the law to ban the promotion of homosexuality.
Scott's high-class performance of his role as Jim Moriarty in the TV series Sherlock brought him even more popularity among the female population. However, their dreams were shattered with just one phrase the actor said in an interview in 2013 about being gay.
We should admit that these movie stars possess great acting talent if they play roles that are at odds with their orientation. What do you think?
