Bruce Willis And Demi Moore: Foes In Marriage, Friends After Divorce

Date March 27, 2019

Not all marriages are happy, which is equally true about celebrities. Fame, wealth, and success don’t always guarantee happiness in a relationship, as exemplified by Whitney Houston and Tina Turner, for instance. If spouses turn out to be incompatible with each other, even the birth of children can’t save the marriage. It appears to us that this was the case with one of the most beautiful Hollywood couples – Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.

Both actors had come a long way before becoming truly famous. Demi faced her first temptations growing when she was married to musician Freddy Moore. Once becoming a demanded model and promising actress, she got addicted to drugs. To her credit, Mrs. Moore managed to quit this destructive habit.

She met Bruce in 1987 and 4 months later the couple walked down the aisle. They were young, successful, vibrant, and happy – at least at first. Less than a year into their marriage, their eldest daughter Rumer and later Scout and Tallulah were born.

Both continued to act, although there was some decline in Demi's career while the children were small. Still, the couple delighted the fans with joint appearances and displays of affection that were capable of making people nearby really uncomfortable.

After almost 11 years of marriage, the actors announced their intention to divorce. Neither of the spouses has been willing to get into the details of the break, so it’s not surprising that it became a hot topic for rumors and speculations. According to one version, the movie icons grew distant due to their busy schedules. Others suspected the actors of mutual infidelity. Still others pointed out to the fact that the couple just turned out to be incompatible: both of them are allegedly very jealous and manipulative, which made arguments and fights a common occurrence in their relationship.

What’s even more surprising was that only after the divorce, Bruce and Demi started to behave like typical spouses: dignified, restrained, polite, and at the same time very family-like! Apparently, they bonded over raising their daughters. Even Demi’s new marriage to Ashton Kutcher (2005-2011) was no an obstacle to this. They said Willis supported his ex-wife during her tearful breakup from the young and likely unfaithful husband.

Bruce stayed a bachelor for a long time after the divorce, but in 2009 tied the knot with model Emma Heming. In this marriage, the actor had another two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. Demi with her girls attended the 10th wedding anniversary of her ex-spouse.

Isn’t it proof that some people are much better off as friends than as spouses?

Despite all efforts, some marriages are doomed from the start. But when there are children, isn’t it wiser to focus on them rather than on mutual accusations? What do you think?
