Facebook Founder’s Invention For His Wife Is A Dream For All Who Have Sleep Problems

Date May 7, 2019

New mommies or people with sleeping disorders often wake up in the middle of the night to check the time because they “need to get up soon”: to feed the baby, get ready for work, not oversleep, etc. As a result, these frequent awakenings only facilitate the development of insomnia, or the deep sleep arrives right before you actually need to get up. How to solve this problem? Mark Zuckerberg came up with a solution!

He was concerned that with the addition to their family, his wife started having trouble sleeping. She would wake up in the middle of the night to look at the time, and even if it wasn’t time to get up yet, the clock would still get on her nerves – she would start counting how much time she has left to sleep and that only made it worse.

So, Mark Zuckerberg came up with this device he calls the “sleep box.” It doesn’t show the time. All it does is emit a very faint light between 6 and 7am. It is not strong enough to wake anyone up, it just lets Mark or Priscilla (whichever of them is awake) know that it’s around time to get the kids. If Priscilla wakes up in darkness, she just goes back to sleep without having to worry about what time it is.

And the invention really worked! Mark's wife really stopped having anxiety and now sleeps peacefully all night, hardly worrying about the time!

According to Mark, his friends immediately began to tell him that they would like the exact same box, so he shared this information on social networks on the off-chance that other entrepreneurs would want to turn his invention into a mass product.

Building a device to help my partner sleep better is one of the best ways I can think of to express my love and gratitude.
