Even though royal family members diligently guard their reputation and observe the protocol, people can’t wait to hear the latest rumors about their lives. The news that Prince Charles’ car uses white wine caused a mixed reaction among the public. Some considered this decision to be just another whim. However, The Telegraph assures: this is how deeply the Prince cares about the environment.
Prince Charles insisted on finding a safe alternative to gasoline. He received his dark blue Aston Martin from Queen Elizabeth II when he turned 21. The 70-year-old royal continues using the car to this day. At first, the engineers of the royal palace tried to discourage the heir to the throne from the dubious idea of wine fuel. However, Charles was firm, saying that otherwise he would no longer use transport.
The experiment was successful. The alternative fuel didn’t damage the car and even turned out to be much better than gasoline. By the way, the royal train, which Charles uses rarely, now is filled with used vegetable oil at his request.
It is no secret that Charles is a monarch with a solid eco-position. He created the scenario for a documentary movie about nature; he is fond of gardening; he is the patron of initiatives for environmental protection. Harvard Medical School awarded the Prince a special award for achievements in the fight against pollution. In addition, Charles instills similar views in his sons and believes his grandchildren can live in a safe and clean world.
