The example of a relationship between her father and mother will mold her notion of marriage and what kind of partner she will look for. The father’s role in raising a daughter as a future woman starts with the behavioral model he has for his wife. Respect and attention to the wife’s needs, sympathy and support, gentle and tender touches and words, gifts and flowers – this is what the daughter will carry into her adult life and seek in a relationship. The fact is that the mother-daughter bond is so strong that the girl copies her in many ways, including the choice of a partner and interaction with him.
