Spring and summer is a great time for walks in parks and the woods. However, you need to be careful while you are under the trees or playing on the grass, as there is a danger of meeting ticks – small blood-sucking bugs that look like spiders with eight legs.

They can be of different colors: from brown to reddish brown and black. After getting on the body, they begin to suck blood and increase in size. They can stay on the skin for up to 10 days.

Most tick bites don’t cause concern, but some people may have an allergic reaction in the form of skin redness or rash. Moreover, some types of ticks can be carriers of serious diseases that are accompanied by symptoms such as:

  • headache;
  • nausea;
  • weakness;
  • muscle or joint pain;
  • fever;
  • chills;
  • swollen lymph nodes.

Even in the absence of the above-mentioned symptoms, it is necessary to consult a doctor if you find ticks on the body. Only specialists can diagnose and prescribe treatment.

Be careful, as these insects can be very small and hide in the most unexpected places. This is what happened to Christal Turner’s son. After the boy had played outdoors, his mother decided to check his head, neck, and back.

She found seven tiny ticks that could be mistaken for freckles or dirty spots.

The woman posted photos on the social network to warn parents to stay vigilant and check their children after outdoor excursions.
