Unfortunately, life is full of unpredictable events that may sometimes bring pain, suffering, and loneliness. It is especially difficult for children to lose their parents at an early age. They face the question of who'll take care of them until they reach a lawful age.
This responsibility is given to the guardians, who may be either distant or close relatives of the child. Alternatively, these may be completely unknown people.
This story happened to Reddit user FormalYogaPants. Now, she is an adult, works at school, is married, and has two children. Unfortunately, her childhood was not so peachy.

When the girl was 10 years old, her parents died in a car accident. She had no relatives, so a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Banks, who had daughter Kitty (all names are fictitious), a year older than the orphaned girl, took her into their home.

The adoptive parents treated the girl well but didn’t show much love and affection. She also couldn’t get on well with Kitty. The family cared about the stepdaughter in every possible way in public, while they could totally forget about her at home. They didn’t conceal that their main interest was the funds that the government paid to the guardians for the maintenance of a foster child, and funds from the real estate and antique shop, which the girl’s parents owned before death. She could enter the inheritance and dispose of it only after she turned 18.

The girl lived in this family for 7 years, and the Banks used her money the entire time. Already a college student, the girl decided to take revenge on her guardians. She gave the most expensive porcelain item from the parents’ shop to a charity auction in the church. She assured everyone that the Banks made this decision themselves because they “wanted” to help the community.
The guardians were enraged when they saw the expensive antique at the church auction. After attempts to take it back, the Banks showed their neighbors the real face of their family. Their reputation in the city was immediately shattered. All locals began to sympathize with the orphan, who was only a source of the Banks’ enrichment.
