18-Year-Old Realized She Was Expecting A Child Only When 9 Months Pregnant! Where Was Her Baby Bump?

Life is full of unbelievable surprises! Saffron Heffer has recently felt how unbelievably the world can spin around you.
The girl has always been carefully watching her diet. She was working out pretty hard and looked after her health meticulously. Who would have thought she was pregnant all this time?
The girl indeed felt strange at times, but she always blamed the lack of seasonal vitamins.
Pregnant? No way!
The lack of periods Saffron put down to hormonal failure due to taking birth control pills. At the same time, her strong desire for lettuce and strawberries was thought to be caused by their presence in the nearest store.
The girl continued to live a normal life: she trained in the gym and sunbathed a lot until her mother offered her to take a pregnancy test, noticing the characteristic pigmentation on her flat stomach.
Saffron was shocked when the test showed two strips, and then the doctors confirmed that she was 37 weeks pregnant! However, where was her baby bump? It turns out that it isn’t always noticeable! Here's what experts say about this.
Why you may have no bump during pregnancy
There are many possible reasons for a small belly during pregnancy. The most common is feto-placental insufficiency.
This condition can also occur as a result of certain problems with health:
- high blood pressure or heart disease;
- some infections (rubella, cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis, and syphilis);
- kidney or lung disease;
- malnutrition or anemia;
- bad habits (smoking, alcohol or drug use).
However, a flat stomach during pregnancy in certain instances may also be completely normal. If during the examination of the future mother no pathologies are found, there is no reason to worry!
What experts said to Saffron
In the girl’s case, the absence of the bump was caused by the incorrect position of the fetus in the uterus. In addition, the girl developed anemia and deficiency of vitamins D and B12.
Shortly after the test, the doctors changed the child’s position, and the expectant mother discovered that her stomach wasn’t flat at all!
It was the shock - I didn't know how to respond. After that two weeks, I had the get-go mindset that it is what it is. You can't change anything.
The baby was born just 6 weeks after the pregnancy test. It was a real surprise for the young mother and her relatives!
Here is what the medical experts think about the possible issue:
- Oral contraceptives preserve menstruation. Scanty menstruation or lack thereof is a reason to consult a doctor.
- You will always have a bump (at least a small one) during pregnancy.
- During late pregnancy, the infant can’t “hide” in any position.
- Mild anemia in the 3rd trimester is typical in many cases.
Some doctors consider this story to be fake. So, it is up to you to decide whether to believe it or not.
