Man Missed The Doomed Ethiopian Airlines Flight That Took 157 Lives. His Emotional Post Tugs At Heartstrings!

On Sunday, March 10, Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed in Ethiopia. There were 149 passengers and 8 crewmembers onboard. The airline reported that no one survived the crash. However, one passenger actually lived through the catastrophe. Antonis Mavropoulos turned out to be extremely lucky.
On the day of the tragedy, the man arrived at the airport too late. Boarding was already closed. He persistently asked to be permitted on the plane, but he was refused. 6 minutes after the takeoff, the aircraft crashed.
Antonis couldn’t believe what had happened. He shared his mixed emotions on Facebook in a post called "My lucky day." He also attached a photo of his boarding pass.
First, Mr. Mavropoulos told his friends on Facebook about being late for the flight, as well as the fact that he was taken to the police station to clarify some information about his identity. He was then informed that the aircraft that he had missed crashed. He immediately contacted his relatives to report that he was fine.
I decided to write this post to cope with the shock. I want to tell everyone that the invisible and impenetrable threads of fortune, connections weave a web of our lives.
There are millions of small threads that we almost never feel, but if at least one of them breaks, it will instantly destroy the entire essence.
This is really the first time when I am infinitely grateful that I live, and I have so many friends who made me feel their love. I kiss everyone and want to thank you for the support.
The man ended his post with the words from the song of the British rock band Jethro Tull:
Maybe not too old to rock n roll - but certainly too young to die...
By the way, the media often publish stories of people who were late for tragic flights. Not all of them are with a happy ending. One of the most famous cases is the story of Italian pensioner Johanna Ganthaler. In 2009, she didn’t board the doomed 447 Air France plane that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean. However, she could not escape fate. The next morning, she was involved in a car accident and died.
Antonis Mavropoulos’ story teaches us to value our lives. Make sure you enjoy it!
