28-year-old Michael Kent decided to propose to his 34-year-old girlfriend Fiona Newlands under the flashing Christmas lights in the capital of Iceland. A passerby accidentally captured this moment and promised to send the picture via email. But Mike had given her the wrong email address. In order to track down their photographer, the couple took to social media. But nobody expected such a huge response!

Mike told that he and his significant other set off to Iceland to see the northern lights. He wanted to ask Fiona to become his wife while watching this natural phenomenon. But due to the heavy snow, they didn't see anything, so the proposal was put off.

While walking around the centre of Reykjavik, Mike noticed a beautiful street, decorated with Christmas lights.

It was late and we were walking back to our hotel and I thought: "This is the moment."

He got down on one knee, proposed to Fiona and she accepted.

At precisely the same moment, a complete stranger was taking a picture of the snowy street and the couple just happened to come into the shot.

Mike then approached the stranger and asked her to send him the picture. Unfortunately, she was unable to to do that due to the wrong email address being given.

The guy wrote a post on Facebook with a request to find the stranger. Eventually, his post was shared by more than 100,000 people. He was getting so many calls from people he didn't even know that his phone was blowing up.

You won't believe it, but the girl was found! The couple arranged to meet her and thanked her personally.

And here's the picture they did all of this for.

It's been 3 years since that incident. Mike and Fiona are doing great. They have even had a beautiful baby!

By the way, a similar story took place in 2018, but this time it was the photographer who was looking for a couple. Matthew Dippel accidentally took a picture of a couple in Yosemite National Park. The guy was proposing to his girlfriend on the top of a cliff. Thanks to Facebook, he managed to find them and give the shot!

Social media is an amazing thing if you know how to use it. If you were moved by this story, share it with your friends!
