A mother of two boys, 32-year-old Australian Kimmy Leahy became the hero of a very optimistic story.
It does not matter what size you are, you can still be desired,
is the most important message, which the plus-size woman gave during the recent interview.
She has been eating badly and gained considerable weight since adolescence. It was very difficult for her to lose the extra pounds but daily life was even harder. Only extreme diets helped Kimmy lose weight, but after the birth of the first child, everything returned back to before.
The woman was in despair because she weighed 280 pounds. In addition to physical inconveniences, there were also a lot of psychological ones, since Kimmy couldn’t look at herself in the mirror – she was ashamed of her body.
Her husband supported her as much as he could and suggested taking up pole dancing -- that turned out to be Kimmy’s dream. However, her insecurity and fear of being laughed at during the class stopped her from starting dancing.
This is what Kimmy said to herself after finally enrolling in the class, as the mother of two boys:
I should be mentally and physically healthy for myself and my children.
When the first photos appeared in social networks, she received a lot of hurtful comments. Over time, she learned to ignore them.
Regular lessons and serious work helped Kimmy achieve the most important thing – self-confidence, love for her body -- even if the extra weight didn’t go away completely.
Now, she openly shows of her success. Fortunately, the family installed a dance pole at home, and she can practice at any time. Even her youngest son wanted to learn some dance movements, after seeing how easily his mom performs.
Today, Kimmy Leahy is an online celebrity, considered by many as an example to imitate. Each of her posts evokes a storm of positive emotions in her fans. We just want to applaud this woman who was able to overcome her fears and insecurities to inspire others.
