Fight Wrinkles: 15-Minute Exercise Complex To Tighten Face Skin At Home

Getting ready for the gymnastics

Rejuvenating exercises help you make the first signs of natural aging less obvious. Although ageing is, unfortunately, irreversible, it is not a reason to give up – this process can be slowed down. Prepare the skin before moving on to the exercises.

  1. Remove makeup and wipe the face with your daily care lotion or tonic.
  2. Apply nourishing or moisturizing cream on the skin if it is dry, paying extra attention to the areas in the corners of the mouth.
  3. Massage it – gently stroke and rub the skin. Use slight pressure and patting.

First of all, slightly stretch the skin around eyelids, starting from the top ones, with the index and ring fingers. Then, gently massage the forehead from the center to the temples. Finally, massage the lower face with stroking movements from the corners of the mouth to the ear lobes.

Anti-wrinkle gymnastics

After a facial massage, it is recommended to stimulate the skin of the head to improve blood circulation. Stroke and gently tap it with your fingertips for 30-60 seconds – this will stimulate blood circulation and muscle activity.

1. The complex for the eyes

The skin in the orbital region is very tender, that’s why the first mimic wrinkles appear around the eyes. To slow down this process, it is recommended to daily perform the following set of exercises (5-7 repetitions):

  1. Open wide and then close your eyes, first simultaneously, then one by one. Keep doing it for 20-30 seconds, but make sure you don’t feel pain or discomfort.
  2. Cover your eyelids, slowly raise your eyes up and down, and then open them.
  3. Make 5-7 circular movements with the eyes clockwise and counterclockwise.
  4. In the same manner, massage the skin in the orbital area with the pads of your fingers. Make sure the circular movements are gentle.

2. The complex for the forehead

These simple movements will help minimizing the appearance of new wrinkles in the upper face. They also will help slightly changing the curve of the eyebrows, which tend to lower with age.

  1. Place a palm on your forehead. Apply light pressure to the skin and, at the same time, raise your eyebrows – make sure to maintain quite strong resistance, but without any discomfort. Repeat the exercise for 30-60 seconds.
  2. Place your fingers on the hairline, gently press on the skin, stretching it upwards, while trying to look down. Repeat for 1 minute.

3. The complex for cheeks

Cheeks are among the last to experience age-related changes, but this is no reason to disregard them. The most effective exercise is inflating them to the limit and slowly releasing the air through a slightly open mouth. You can combine it with the following ones.

  1. Smile as wide as possible, then pull your cheeks in with force, as back in childhood imitating a fish.
  2. Get some air in your mouth, move it from side to side, slightly pressing your cheeks with the palms to create moderate pressure.
  3. Roll the lower lip out, so that you feel your chewing muscles tense, repeat the exercise 5-10 times.

It is recommended to alternate these movements in random order. Repeat the entire complex 5-7 times.

4. The complex for chin

One of the most unpleasant things about age-related changes is perhaps your face looking heavier and becoming less sharply contoured. To avoid this, try to regularly perform the following exercises.

  1. Lower your head and press your chin to your chest as hard as you can. Slowly count to 10, then go back to the initial position.
  2. Tilt your head back as far as possible without any discomfort. Count to 10, go back to the initial position.
  3. Slowly and gently turn your head from side to side, trying to feel how your jaw muscles strain. 8-10 repetitions will be enough.
  4. Lift your chin and try to slightly extend it forward. Count to 5 and go back to the initial position.
  5. Place the two thumbs on the center of the chin, then move them along the lower jaw to the earlobes, while applying slight pressure to the skin.

5. The complex for your mouth and lips

The easiest way to stimulate muscle activity in this area is to imitate a kiss, extending the lips forward. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times, alternating it with the following:

  1. Slowly pronounce the vowels articulating well. The recommended order is: "o," "u," "i," "a," "e."
  2. Open your mouth slightly and tense your lips. After 3-5 seconds, return to the initial position.
  3. Imitate blowing fluff off an imaginary dandelion – get some air into your mouth and slowly release it.
  4. More childish exercises – pish with a “pff” sound a few times.

Each of the 4 described exercises is recommended to repeat 5-7 times.

6. Complex for the neck

Taking a regular care of the face, many women forget about the neck, which is in fact most likely to give away the true age. Moreover, the gymnastics can effectively remove fatigue and regain clarity of thought. There are only 4 exercises in our complex:

  1. Sit straight and try to relax. Lower your shoulders and, at the same time, try to stretch your head up. Stay in this position for 5-7 seconds, then go back to the initial position. This exercise strengthens the muscles and increases the skin elasticity.
  2. The starting position is the same. Tilt your head back and try to stretch your chin up for 5-7 seconds, then relax.
  3. Move your head in a figure of eight 3-4 times in each direction.
  4. Lock your hands together, put them on the back of your neck, and lower your head slightly. For 5-7 seconds, try to raise your head against a little resistance of your hands.

In general, the whole complex of exercises, together with massage, will hardly take more than 10-15 minutes. It is also recommended to finish with gentle stroking and patting. These exercises are simple and universal – they can be performed almost everywhere. The main thing is not to be lazy and do them regularly, turning it into a useful daily habit.
