People should always appreciate their appearance since it is unique. However, sometimes beauty problems can cause severe self-doubt and a desire to hide from the rest of the world. Fortunately, young American Kali Kushner didn’t give up and was lucky enough to avoid complexes. Instead, the girl was patient and began to fight the annoying problem.
It all started when Kali was still studying at school. Like all teenagers, she developed small lesions on her face. However, the situation soon escalated. With each passing day, the problem compounded. She tried everything: cleaning with oil, washing with water and different additives, antibiotics prescribed by her dermatologist; nothing worked.
You create your own standards of what’s beautiful, don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!
A year of confusion and attempts to find a suitable remedy to cure cystic acne passed. Soon, a dermatologist suggested Kushner try a drug containing isotretinoin alongside with vitamin C. After a few weeks, the first pleasant results appeared. The only drawback was the side effects. The product dried out the skin, causing pain. After some time, the girl refrained from using the medication, but her skin condition had improved significantly.
Kali didn’t hesitate to share her achievements on Instagram. According to the 22-year-old student, she didn’t want to attract subscribers to become famous on the internet. She just wanted to show her acne success. Today, she has more than 53 thousand subscribers and receives about 50 messages every day. The girl is pleasantly surprised with the support from strangers. She believes that her example will inspire others. However, she didn’t always feel comfortable. She could spend hours in front of the mirror to get ready, feeling worried and ashamed. Luckily, when she started sharing photos of her skin, she realized that she wasn’t alone and shouldn’t hide. Her acne doesn’t make her less beautiful; it is part of her life, and there is no reason to be shy.
In addition, the Instagram community has recently started using hashtag #myskinmatters to share their stories of dealing with the problem.
Acne is the skin inflammation caused by a decrease in bactericidal function and is characterized by clogging of the sebaceous glands. Most often, it occurs in adolescents and adults under 25 due to endocrine disruption, stress, and gastrointestinal tract diseases.
I am thankful for my acne.
Kali is a real beauty! Her story proves us once again that you need to love yourself, regardless of how you look.
