Turn That Frown Upside Down! Ways To Help Lift Drooping Mouth Corners
January 31, 2019
The corners of the mouth are essential for facial expressions. Along with other facial features, they enable people to tell your mood. If it happened to you that someone asked you why you were sad, when in fact you weren’t, it means that your regular facial expression looks sad. Fortunately, there are ways to help lift the corners of the mouth and make your face cheerful again.
Why it happens
Contrary to a popular belief that the problem simply lies with a constant bad mood, that's not the whole picture. The fact is that mimicry of the mouth relies on the muscles. Over time, they assume a certain position. Some of the muscles are engaged more often, while others get weaker from being rarely used. That’s how your face looks the way it does. In addition, with age, the function of the sebaceous glands decreases and blood circulation declines. It gets increasingly hard to keep the facial skin toned, which aggravates the problem.
