Famous Australian blogger Constance Hall, found herself at the center of a social media storm after she posted a photo of herself in a maternity ward on Facebook.

The mother of five was accused of allegedly neglecting her newborn. However, there were those who took her side.

In the picture, Constance is seen lying on a hospital bed sipping a beverage while checking her phone. Her husband, Denim Cooke, on the other hand, was leaning over their son in the bed.

The picture has brought some unfavorable judgment of the public. Many social media users were of the opinion that the mother doesn’t spend time with her baby, rather she is absorbed in her phone.

Later, Constance deleted all negative comments under the photo, but here are some of them:

Perhaps Googling some parenting tips.

The mom didn’t want to let it slide, so the next day she wrote the following statement:

It’s nobody’s business what a mother is doing on her phone the day she gives birth, if she’s sending her children and mother photos of the baby or googling tit jobs in Thailand it’s not your business.

Constance added:

In fact the way another mother is mothering...... is not your problem. Just to clarify for you here are 2 things that are your problems

1, if a child is being abused. Sexually, mentally, physically. Or neglected, starved or not having their medical needs met...

And 2, YOUR children.

Many mothers supported the blogger and posted their own maternity ward pictures on her page.

Many subscribers agreed that after giving birth, any woman deserves time for anything – be it a fizzy drink or just rest. Moreover, it’s Constance’s, fifth baby. There is nothing wrong with the father filling in, while the wife takes a minute to herself.

Do you consider this behavior OK, or do you think that after giving birth a mother must spend every second with her child? Share your thoughts in the comments!
