Betty White is famous for being the actress with the longest-running career in Hollywood, on and off-screen, with over 70 years’ worth of experience. Her acting career was impressive and it is obvious that there are many secrets about the filming industry that only she knows. One of such mysteries is connected with NBC's 'The Golden Girls'.

It has been more than three decades since the public fell in love with Bea Arthur and Betty White who starred in the hit sitcom, but it turns out the relationship between two actresses wasn't as good as we thought.

Although her career spans decades, most people know Betty White for the role she played on NBC hit show ‘The Golden Girls’, which ran from 1985 to 1992. She played the role of Rose Nylund, and the show revolved around the lives of four older women who lived in a Miami apartment together.

It won a Primetime Emmy Award twice and three Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

Each of the four actresses also won an Emmy, making it one of three sitcoms in the award’s history to have ever earned that reputation.

Betty White and Bea Arthur's feud

Betty White can easily be seen as a loving grandmother due to her infectious smile and warm disposition. Therefore, it is hard to imagine that someone does not like this sweetheart.

However, while speaking to HNL’s Joy Behar, Betty revealed that one of her ‘The Golden Girls’ colleagues did not particularly like her. It was none other than Bea Arthur.

She said with the look of one who is perplexed:

“Bea was not that fond of me. I don’t know what I ever did. I don’t know. But she was not that thrilled with me. But, I loved Bea, and I admired her.”

The interview focused on the fun times while working on the show, and she went on to express surprise at the fact that she is the only cast member still alive, though she was the oldest.

Interestingly, she was a year older than Estelle Getty, who acted as Bea Arthur’s character’s mother. Funny, right?
