Boy wants the same haircut as his friend

Jax and Reddy are best friends who always have fun wherever they go. It does not matter to them that they are of different races. In fact, we doubt if they even noticed.

Jax's mom was surprised one day when the boy said he wanted to get a haircut just like his best friend's. Jax wasn't simply inspired by Reddy's style, he had an ulterior motive. He believed that getting the same hairstyle as his buddy would make it difficult for anyone to tell them apart.

Jax's mom, Lydia Stith Rosebush, shared this heartwarming request on her Facebook page and explained that the 5-year-old boy had expressed his interest in getting a super short haircut.

The boy then told his mom that after cutting his hair, he couldn't wait to go back to school so the teacher would be so confused and would be unable to tell the difference between him and his friend.

Isn't it adorable that the only thing that Jax believed made him look different from his friend was their different hair? To Jax, all he needed was to get a new haircut and he and Reddy could virtually be identical twins.

The significance of Jax's request passed an important message, which is that prejudice isn't something we're born with. These innocent little boys knew what it meant to love the heart of a person rather than the color of their skin.

Jax's mother adds:

I’m glad that my 5-year-old can show the world that there’s so much more to people other than color.

What an inspiring story! These two do share a special bond. Here's hoping they remain best friends forever.
