10 Celebrity Couples Who Know How To Balance Their Careers With Raising Their Kids

Family values which we instill in our children are possibly the first codes of conduct which they're exposed to. Like any value, they're constructed and shaped by what we think is right or wrong.

For celebrities and their tight schedules, it can sometimes be difficult to keep up-to-date with their children's upbringing. However, it's not always the case. These artists have been able to balance their careers with raising their children:

1. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.


This young couple have two little daughters. They both love and appreciate their careers, and also being parents, which is why they've agreed to travel together with their girls to filming locations. They also distribute their time accordingly. When Ryan is filming, Blake goes with him and their daughters. In fact, they've both made personal sacrifices to keep the family unit together.


Blake confirmed in an interview:

"We're here as a family, then we go back and I'll do a couple of movies."

2. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green.


This couple has also made sacrifices for their three kids. Megan always wanted to have a baby, but she was postponing it because of her career. But once she had her first child, she didn't want to stop there. She even said she would happily give up her job for motherhood.

3. Shakira and Gerard Piqué.


Singer and soccer player is a difficult mix of careers and parental situation to deal with. However, Shakira confessed that she had already postponed starting a family for many years and she wanted to take the leap. Now their children and family are one of their main priorities.


What is clear is that she has no intention of giving up her career to focus on just raising kids, so they've found a way to do both.

4. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.


While the experienced Nicole has already been married and had children before; her relationship with Keith and their two daughters has been a turning point in her life. She is so in love that she has said there is nothing more important to her than their relationship. In an interview, she was asked how her husband reacted when he found out she would play the role of Grace Kelly, to which she responded:

If he had said no, I wouldn't have done it."

5. Victoria and David Beckham.


They, without doubt, have been one of the most solid couples in the world of celebrities. As well as their professed love for each other and their hugely successful careers, they have one priority in common which is family. They have both continued their careers, but have also cultivated a family.


Victoria has said:

I want to be the best mother and wife. I almost never go out ... but when I'm not working, we socialize as a family."

6. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.


This couple, despite having recently announced their divorce, has made family values another career. Ben has always praised Jennifer, beyond just his wife and partner, but as a woman, friend and mother. For both of them, raising their children is just as important as their careers. That's why they're not afraid to make sacrifices to fulfill both roles. Ben has said in an interview:

(...) But I need for my work to mean something to me, for it to be worth me not being at home with them."

7. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.


They're both highly acclaimed in Hollywood. That could be a problem when it comes to raising their two children. However, both understand that they must deal with both their children and their work. And although it's sometimes hard, they're handling it well. Mila has said that:

What I want my daughter to learn from me, is the value of hard work."

8. Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham.


Their task of raising their three kids is vital for them both. Mark has an intense career, but he doesn't let it stop him spending time with his family. He always ensures they share moments together, as any ordinary family, which is a fundamental value for them. Although he also nourishes his marital relationship, the actor confessed in an interview that:

(...)But even when we go out, we like to get home to lie down with the kids."

9. Meryl Streep and Don Gummer.


Both members of this couple work in entertainment, but the fact is that Meryl's career is very busy. They've had 4 children together and she insists that they've always understood that family is a matter of balance, and important exercise in establishing priorities.


She has also recognized that it is a big challenge.

Our marriage as well as our four children and their future well-being are part of every decision we make."

10. Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso.


This couple has definitely learned to deal with the actor's overwhelming career and arduous task of raising their children. Matt has recognized that his wife is his soul mate and their family is most important. They have four children and, although he admits it was better when they were small, they've both enjoyed their upbringing. In fact, to avoid interrupting their kids' schooling, they've come up with a strategy. They no longer take them with them to filming locations, but whenever Matt leaves town for work, he always comes back for the weekends.

As we can see, everybody has their own ways of being parents to their children. But the important thing is that they have their priorities clearly in mind.
