John Goodman Is No Longer The "Cute Big Guy" In Movies, He Looks Very Different Now

When the actor John Goodman tipped the scales to nearly 440 lbs, he decided it was time to make a change.

“I got tired of looking at myself.”

He reached a point where he admitted he could not look at himself in the mirror:

I just got tired, I got tired and I got tired of looking at myself, you're shaving in the mirror and you do not want to look at yourself.

So he made a radical decision to change his life.

One of the first things he did was hire a trainer, Mackie Shilstone. He started training six days a week. His big decision also required that he cut out alcohol and sugar altogether, in addition to adopting a Mediterranean diet.

A few kilos less and John Goodman looks amazing.

After two years of diet and training, the change was evident: the actor of almost 65 managed to lose more than 110 lbs and he looked remarkably different.

Goodman says there were times when he felt that he would soon be overweight again, but he stood his ground and kept at it. His doggedness paid off. He looks better than ever and feels great about his lifestyle choices.

I know it sounds corny, but it was a waste (to live like that). It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and think what you're going to eat next ... I wanted to live better.

John Goodman’s new image suits him!

The actor walks with more confidence and it’s not just evident to him alone that he feels great. It’s one of the first things you notice when he graces the red carpets for events.

Good for him! He's certainly aging like fine wine. Let's hope he keeps his determination to stay healthy and does not lose his great spirit.
