Sixth-Grader Does The Sweetest Thing To Help Teacher Pay For His Father-In-Law’s Funeral

Date March 5, 2018

A 6th-grade primary school teacher in the state of Alabama, United States, had a touching experience that he will surely never forget in his life. His name is Price Lawrence and he teaches at a Huntsville elementary school.

One day, Lawrence came to his class as usual, but the students noticed that he was a little distracted. They asked him what was wrong and he replied that his father-in-law had died last weekend and that he was worried about his wife’s well-being. All the students gave their condolences and words of support, but there was one girl who did something very special.

The little one put in the teacher's hand a small note that said:

I’m sorry, Mr. Lawrence.

But that wasn’t all. Next to the note, the girl gave him a few coins and said:

This is for your wife. I know it was very expensive when my dad died and I really did not want ice cream today.

Price and his wife were stunned by the kindness of this little girl. The teacher decided to tell his story on Facebook, which has been shared more than 251,000 times.

He concluded in his post:

I wish the world would pay more attention to children. We could learn a lot from them.

Lawrence’s profile shows that he seems to be a great fun for his students and he knows how to build a close relationship with them. Perhaps creating an atmosphere of mutual respect in a classroom can prompt children to be more kind to each other and to their teachers.
