People who are glad to share their lives with pets perceive their domestic animals more than just some random creatures. They become real family members, deserving all the love and care that you can offer them.

However, that doesn’t prevent some intolerant people from attacking the animals. According to the numbers from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, 7 out of 10 dogs have suffered from cruel treatment.
Our today’s hero Teo, a small Shih Tzu dog, was taken to the local veterinary clinic in Northern Colombia to get his hair done.

Teo’s owner entrusted his pet to the establishment. When he returned, he discovered that the animal “felt depressed,” so he decided to take him to another hospital. As it turned out, Teo received a hard blow.

Later, he requested explanations from the vet. As it eventually turned out from the recording, provided by the clinic, Teo had been assaulted by one of the establishment’s employees.

What can you do if you discover a similar case?
To reduce this type of aggression, many countries have created animal protection laws that condemn such behavior. In Teo's case, the assaulter can spend up to three years in prison and pay a fine of up to $15,000.

That is why it is essential to know the legal provisions of your country concerning animals protection. You should be prepared to act if you face a similar situation.

It is also important to remember that not only pets can be subject to aggression. For this reason, it is important to pay attention to other animals in your environment that might also need your help.
