Michelle Obama Got A Cough Drop From George Bush At His Father's Funeral

This Wednesday, the USA said its last goodbye to the former president George H. W. Bush. The funeral service was held in the National Cathedral located in Northwest Washington D.C., and a peculiar moment took place between the son of the late politician, George W. Bush, and Michelle Obama.

Bush’s curious gesture

When George Bush came into the church, accompanied by his relatives, he went to greet the presidential couple and the Obama family. And he used the chance to secretly give Michelle a candy. She received the gesture with a smile.

The warm gesture of the politician towards the former First Lady surprised the public and the press. However, this was not the first time Bush played with Mrs. Obama.

During the funeral of Senator John McCain in September, George Bush also handed Michelle Obama a mint. She later explained this sweet moment in an interview with NBC.

Michelle’s 'partner in crime'

Michelle said that she and Bush have always been seatmates because of protocol, so they are "partners in crime." Her affection extended to Bush Sr., which was on display when she pointed out that the former president was a wonderful man.

George H.W. Bush died last Friday at the age of 94, and the funeral was also attended by former president Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, as well as former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn.
