A police officer in California shocked eyewitnesses and social media users by taking an elderly man’s side in an argument with a bank. The incident occurred when a 92-year-old man, whose name was not disclosed, came to Bank of America to withdraw a sum of money from his account. He was denied because his identification expired. Obviously, the bank could not process his request, but the man still couldn’t understand why the bank wouldn’t give him his money.

After a while, the old man got into a full-on argument with the staff of the bank and the police were called in, as reported by Shareably. A police officer, Robert Josett, arrived to enforce the law and restore order to remove the old man who was making a scene from the building. However, when he learned what was happening, he chose another way to handle the situation.

Instead of kicking him out, the officer, moved by his story, personally accompanied the man to DMV to get a new ID. Moreover, Josett accompanied him back to the bank to make sure the old man could withdraw the amount of money he had requested.

Later, the Montebello Police Department posted a photo on Facebook of the officer accompanying the elderly man, catching the attention of thousands of users who did not hesitate to praise the kind gesture in the comments.

Many admired the policeman and thanked him for not having left the old man alone with his trouble.
