Losing weight is difficult to do. No matter how hard you try and what results you get, you may still feel self-conscious about yourself. Moreover, human cruelty has no limits, and sometimes people mock or judging. This is what happened to Jacqueline Adan, a girl who knows very well what it is like to be a victim of bullying since it has long been part of her life.

Jacqueline Adan's weight loss story

Meet Jacqueline Adam! The girl is wonderful and she managed to do what many consider impossible: She lost more than 350 pounds (150 kg) off her weight of 500 pounds (220 kg). However, she experienced another problem after her weight loss journey. When you lose weight, skin doesn't adapt at the same rate - it stretches. That’s why many people started to shame Jacqueline for her legs.

As she lost weight, Jacqueline's legs looked unusual. At first, she was concerned about the appearance because of all the extra skin, especially on her legs. Nevertheless, she decided that it wouldn’t take her back off from living her life to the fullest.

Jacqueline finally felt comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit for her vacation for the first time in a long time. She did not expect to be shamed in the pool of the hotel she was staying at. People in the pool began to laugh at her legs and point at her.

Seeing the reaction of other people around her, Jacqueline took a deep breath, smiled, and kept walking, as if nothing had happened. However, she decided not to keep it to herself and made a post on Instagram, in which she made it clear what the incident had made her feel. Here is this post:

When we were on vacation in Mexico a few weeks ago, it was the first time I had worn a bathing suit in a long time, and it had been even longer since I wore a bathing suit without a cover-up. I was nervous to take my cover-up off and to walk into the pool or walk on the beach. I still felt like that same 500-pound girl… then, it happened. A couple sitting by the pool started laughing and pointing at me and making fun of me as soon as I took my cover-up off. So what did I do? I took a deep breath, smiled and walked into the pool. That was a huge moment for me. I had changed. I was not the same girl anymore. Yes I still have a lot of loose skin, I may still feel insecure at times, and yes I may still get made fun of. To be honest, yes it bothered me. But I was not going to let people like that affect me anymore! I am not going to let what other people think of me stop me from living my life. They do not know me. They do not know how I have worked my ass off to lose 350 pounds (150 kg). They do not know how I am recovering from major surgeries. They have no right to sit and point and laugh at me. That’s why I smiled. It does not matter what others say or if they try to doubt you or try to bring you down. What matters is how you react to it. How you feel about yourself. Loving yourself just the way you are is hard. Others might not like that. That’s ok. I hope you love yourself. Love your body. I hope you keep doing you, and just keep smiling!

Her wonderful post was supported by her followers. They encouraged her to continue raising awareness about the efforts of those struggling to improve their appearance. Jacqueline knew that the root of the jokes was not in her but in pettiness of some people.

Jacqueline's bravery was recognized by hundreds of people who keep admiring her for daring efforts to be heard. Along with that, she shares images of her personal life, which demonstrate that she enjoys her life to the fullest.
