In happy 2014, Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman welcomed their first child, daughter Vale. It happened on August 13. The couple didn’t hide their pregnancy, and all their fans could follow their news on TV. The parents couldn’t be happier. But soon, in December 2016, they welcomed their first son, Charley.
Savannah has always dreamt about motherhood. And despite her huge success in professional life, she got lucky to become a mother only after 40. The woman says she always wanted to get married and have 2 children. And so far, she seems to be on the right track.
The TV host says the success in personal life is very different from the professional one. And here is exactly what she thinks on that:
You work in a job like ours and it's so public, people think, ‘Oh, my gosh, that must have been the thing that you focused on your whole life. That must have been your dream. That must have been the only thing you worked for'. In the end, all I ever wanted was just to have a family.
The woman says the best thing she can do for her kids is to be the best person. And that’s her biggest priority. This way, she will raise decent people who will know what they want in life.
And when speaking about work-life balance, Savannah admits it’s all about priorities. It’s great to have a job you enjoy and love, but children always come first. What’s more, even if a person is capable of doing everything, it doesn’t mean he/she should prioritize things and do everything at the same time. As a rule, such attempts don’t turn out well.
