Hero Dad Dies Trying To Rescue His 3-Year-Old Daughter Who Was In A Car That Rolled Into A Pond

The father of a 3-year-old girl died when he tried to rescue his little daughter from a car which went into a pond. Witnesses of the tragedy told how it all happened.

Dad dies trying to rescue his daughter

24-year-old Anthony Burgess Jr., from Indiana, didn’t hesitate a second when he dove into a pond after the car with his 3-year-old daughter inside rolled into the water.

Burgess parked his car in a parking lot near the pond at an apartment complex. Somehow, his little girl got into the car when it suddenly began to roll towards the water.

Witnesses say the father jumped into the pond immediately to save the girl. Some of them entered the water to try to pull the father and daughter out. Burgess told the girl to move to the backseat as the vehicle started to sink.

Later, it was reported that Andreas couldn’t even swim, but it didn’t stop him from trying to rescue his child.

Two bystanders called the ambulance and the rescue team. When they arrived at the place, they found the girl pulled out of the water. She was breathless. Her father was still not found.

Andreas reportedly spent over 20 minutes under the water before the divers pulled him out of the pond. He was in critical condition. The man was immediately transported to St. Vincent Hospital, where he died from serious injuries.

His daughter was taken to the hospital in critical condition too. She had injuries and was diagnosed with hypothermia. Later, her condition was reported as stable. The doctors say she will be fine.
