The reasons for the extra weight among Americans are as simple as that: bad eating habits, lack of exercises, and even medications. Everything, this and even more, resulted in Heather Oset putting on a mortally excessive weight.

Amazing weightloss

She was 356 pounds and suffered from diabetes. She worked as a hairdresser and could hardly endure the entire working day standing on her weak legs. Constant feet and back pain didn’t allow her to relax. Her thoughts at that time were:

Oh my gosh, I’m going to die; I’m too young to die.

One day, a friend of hers suggested Heather researching about bariatric surgery. It was difficult to accept the need of operational intrusion, but it was necessary.

Mrs. Oset changed her life before the surgery and lost 20 pounds before the start by cutting off her harmful eating habits and sticking to a protein diet. On January 18, 2017, she had the operation. Another great fear she experienced was the risk of failure during the procedure. Luckily, everything went as planned.

Her first exercising was just walking – she had to adjust her body to the new changes. Next step was the goal to lose weight:

The first goal in my head was to hit 250 lbs. As I got closer to that number, I then lowered it to 200, than to 180, than to 160. Never did I think I would weigh 125 lbs. as of today! I’ve lost 231 lbs. total, including the 20 I lost on my own right before surgery.

She did it, she managed to save her life by losing 231 pounds due to the surgery, and for those who would say she cheated, she had the best answer:

Nothing about having surgery was easy. You have to put the work in, you have to eat right. It’s not a magic wand, it’s a tool, and it’s something I’m always going to have to keep in check.

Try not to gain

Eating right is not the only thing you should do to avoid gaining weight. Constant stress and getting nervous influence your behavior, thus increasing the tendency of overweighing.
