So here's the major question: how is it possible to clean the machine without spending much effort and time? Sure, you can buy some special cleaners, but there is actually no need to use harsh chemicals. We would gladly share some of the simplest ways to make the appliance squeaky-clean.

Solution 1

White vinegar perfectly disinfects and neutralizes the unpleasant odor.

  1. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of vinegar in a glass or a microwave-safe bowl with water.
  2. Put it in the machine and set the maximum temperature.
  3. Switch the appliance on for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Leave the door shut for 2-3 more minutes and then remove the bowl. Beware, it might very hot!
  5. Start wiping down the inside and see how fast your microwave will become clean.

Solution 2

Lemons have antibacterial properties and are perfect cleaning agents.

  1. Slice the fruit in half, squeeze the juice, and put one lemon half into 1/2 cup of water. It is crucial not to have too much liquid in order for it not to boil over.
  2. Microwave for a maximum of 5-10 minutes.
  3. Wait for 5 more minutes before opening the door. Let the essential oils work and loosen the food gunk.
  4. Wipe the inside and enjoy the citrus aroma.

Solution 3

Here’s another very simple trick – baking soda. The procedure is pretty much the same as in the above solutions. You should mix 2 tablespoons of soda with water, put the bowl or glass in the machine for 3-5 minutes, wait a bit, wipe the junk off, and enjoy cleanliness.

We hope these tricks will help you tackle the messy microwave problem.
