Four Shot, Including 6-Year-Old, Outside A Texas Roadhouse In San Antonio

In 2015, 372 mass shootings took place in the United States. 475 people lost their lives, and 1,870 were injured. Out of this number, 64 were school shootings. Firearms accounted for the deaths of 13,286 people during the same year.

Despite calls for stricter gun control measures, more Americans seem to be getting access to firearms. At present, there are about 300 million guns in the US. That is almost enough for every single person in the country.

Mass shooting in San Antonio

On February 18, an unknown gunman wearing a mask opened fire on a popular steakhouse in San Antonio. A semi-automatic was used to commit the crime.

This incident occurred at 8:40 pm. A few customers were standing outside the restaurant at the time of the shooting.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said injuries sustained by two victims were life-threatening. The six-year-old was shot in the leg.

The shooter fled the scene of the crime.

The San Antonio incident comes barely a week after the horrific Florida school shooting.

Family affair

Investigators believe that the incident in San Antonio was a family feud turned sour. Four of the victims were related. The shooter was identified as an African-American male. Law enforcement authorities are still investigating the matter.
