Reba McEntire Talks On Faith, Family, Music, And More

On March 17, country superstar Reba McEntire celebrated what would have been the 68th wedding anniversary of her parents, Clark and Jacqueline McEntire. She shared this cute throwback photo of the couple sharing a kiss.

Clark McEntire died on Oct. 23, 2014, at the age of 86; three years earlier, he suffered a stroke. Jacqueline is alive and well. In 2017, he joined Reba and her sisters, Susie and Alice, singing "I'll Fly Away". The song was included on Reba’s Grammy Award-winning gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.

Family, divorce and music

In 2015, the world was shocked when Reba announced she was getting a divorce from husband and manager, Narvel Blackstock. The couple had been married for 26 years. For Reba, it was a particularly trying experience.

Speaking to ET Canada in 2017, Reba revealed that despite the pain of separation, she found comfort in faith, family, friends, and music.

That’s life. Life goes on. You remember the good times. Don’t look back. Go forward. And that’s kind of what the whole family is doing.

Reba confessed that she missed marriage, but her faith in God was helping her through the process. Following her divorce, she eventually found inspiration for her first-ever gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.

The iconic singer has also found a passion for fashion. She started a boot line, Reba by Justin, which makes comfortable rodeo shoes inspired by sneakers and tennis shoes.

Reba is currently a performer-in-residence at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum in Las Vegas.

New host for ACM Awards

Right on the heels of her Col. Sanders advert, Reba is set to host the 2018 ACM Awards. A new promo video shows Reba announcing herself with varying inflections.

Reba is an old hand at hosting the ACM Awards. She also has won 16 ACM Awards during her career.
