The ginger royal was only 12 years old when Princess of Wales was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997. The former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, who traveled the world with Diana, thinks she would have approved of her son’s choice of wife.
She also revealed that Princess Diana was previously worried and “anxious” about her son's happiness and his role in life. Jennie said:
She was always anxious Harry should find his role in life because it’s not easy for the second son and she was worried about him finding happiness.
However, 67-year-old reporter believes she would approve Harry’s future wife. She commented:
Obviously like any mother I’m sure she would have been delighted. It’s impossible to say what Diana would have felt clearly, can’t speak from the grave, but I think she would have approved.
59-year old former Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell, also thinks the late princess would have liked Markle. He revealed:
She would have picked her, that is the way forward. It is about the young team Windsor, they are the future of our monarchy. They will embrace people.
Diana’s funeral was nearly 20 years ago, but Harry still feels emotional when he thinks about that tragic day.
In his interview with Newsweek, he remembers:
My mother had just died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television. I don’t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. I don’t think it would happen today.
The prince admits that her abrupt passing really affected him.
He was spotted partying naked and even once wore Nazi clothing at a fancy-dress party. It seemed that there was no one who could ever fill the void left by the passing of his mother, but with Meghan in his life, Prince Harry feels much happier and ready to create a family of his own.
