Chip Gaines has always been a body-positive role model for many fans. He was proud of his “dad bod”.

The Fixer Upper Star once commented:

At any given moment, there’s a little voice in my head . . . that’s constantly telling me, “Way to go, Chip, that was so funny!’ and ‘Hey, Chip, you look good in that size medium T-shirt!’ A few times [it] has even told me my dad bod is ‘rockin.'

But he continued:

Folks just don’t seem to appreciate when I take my shirt off without having a good reason to do so.

Now, Chip said goodbye to his dad-bod, as he is preparing for his first-ever marathon race, which will take place in Waco next month. Gaines took to Instagram to share the photo of his progress.

We’ve got to say, he looks healthier than ever!

The Fixer Upper star has already lost 10 pounds, according to Runner's World, and feels stronger than ever, too. He said:

I’m down around 10 pounds. And the fact that I’m not sucking wind at mile one is probably a pretty good sign, too.

Chip is now running 15 miles at a time and is feeling proud of what he has achieved so far.

Let me be the first to tell you that there’s nothing quite like that feeling of surprising yourself with your progress.

Along with a new body, Chip has also gotten a new hairdo for a good cause.

He captured the photo with a message:

It’s come to my attention that most of you hate my current hairstyle. But how MUCH do you hate it? Now’s the time to put your money where your mouth is. So here's the deal: Next week, Jo and I are visiting the beautiful kids at Target House with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. No family ever pays at @StJude for treatment, travel or food—so basically, we want to bring them a giant check from YOU to help cover costs - lets come together to do something big to bless these kiddos. Donate to @StJude through the link in my profile, and the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise.

Later, Chip proved that he is a man of his word.

With hair or without it, his achievements are pretty impressive. Way to go, Chip!
