Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Wedding Will Cost Taxpayers More Than Kate And William's One

Date March 14, 2018

Preparation for Prince Harry’s upcoming royal wedding is in the full swing, and there are more and more details revealed regarding the expenses. Earlier this month, an eye-watering $550,000 that the couple is said to have spent on Meghan Markle’s wedding gown definitely raised eyebrows. But, to be fair, we didn’t expect nothing less from the royal nuptials!

The former actress also spent more than $100 thousand on post-wedding celebrations and honeymoon, but this is her present to her husband-to-be. Overall, the budget has increased, and so has the sum that taxpayers pay.

Surely, the British public doesn’t pay for everything!

In case of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, the pair’s parents paid for the reception, decorations, flowers, and much more. But $15-25 million sum was taken from taxpayers’ money to ensure security. It included snipers, police officers, undercover police, and a search for explosives.

It is usually done to prevent any terrorist attacks. But due to Harry’s military service and racist attacks on Meghan, this year’s cost has ballooned to above $30 million! And their plan to take a carriage ride after the ceremony doesn’t make it easier, as there will be numerous fans.

It seems that Harry and Meghan’s wedding can be even more expensive than Kate and William’s one. Well, at least, in terms of the dress cost. Duchess Catherine’s gown is one of the most expensive dresses that cost a phenomenal $430,000.

But when it’s Alexander McQueen, it is bound to be pricey.
