One Cake Is Good, But Two Are Better! Meghan And Harry Will Have A Secret Second Wedding Cake

Date March 28, 2018

Just a few days ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed that they would break another tradition because of their unusual choice of a wedding cake. The former actress has chosen a British pastry chef, Claire Ptak, to do the honors. But why is it not traditional?

As Kensington Palace stated, the royal couple wants to have a lemon elderflower cake. And since they are due to wed in May, it’s no surprise the delicacy should scream "spring." It will also have fresh flowers as decorations and buttercream.

Sounds delicious, isn’t it?

Traditionally, the royals prefer having a fruitcake at their wedding. But it seems that the American beauty and the Queen’s grandson do not want to deviate from traditional choices as well.

Same as Prince William and Kate Middleton, the pair will have two cakes. Alongside the modern wedding dessert, there will also be an iced fruitcake. It will be cut into pieces, and the leftovers will be given to all staff involved. Harry and Meghan will keep the other piece for their honeymoon.

Little is known about the price the couple will spend. Back in 2011, the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge had a gorgeous 8-tier fruitcake that reportedly cost $80,000. The second cake was made of chocolate and biscuits.

We can’t wait to get at least a little glimpse of royal delicacies!
