Singer Jamelia Urges Parents Not To Repeat Her Mistakes After Her Newborn Daughter Nearly Died

Jamelia calls her third baby a pure miracle. In fact, it is true, because the singer could lose her child at any moment. Her water broke when she was just 23 weeks pregnant. Nevertheless, Jamelia managed to last through 36 weeks and welcomed her daughter in December.

They keep calling my daughter a miracle baby. Going through something like that really opens your eyes.

But recently, Jamelia shocked everybody by saying that something terrible happened with her baby girl, and she nearly died in her arms.

Jamelia almost lost her daughter True in the beginning of this year, when she was just 4 weeks old. The girl went limp and stopped breathing, and it was the worst moment in Jamelia’s life.

After two minutes, I remember my daughter going limp. I felt like she was giving up. I thought she was going to die.

Jamelia didn’t know what to do and how to act in this situation. She asked her daughter to call 999 and was coached in CPR by the ambulance service, and True finally started breathing again.

Now, the singer urges other parents to learn CPR as it may save the life one day.

Don’t make the same mistake I did. Get yourself educated and if your child stops breathing, you will know what to do. A lot of people make the wrong assumptions.

Such situations can happen with everyone, and we need to know how to handle these situations. First of all, we should not forget the emergency phone number – 999 and use it in case of emergency. As well, it might be very useful to pass the first aid training and get some life-saving skills.

Jamelia says every parent should know what to do in case of emergency. She understood it after that horrible situation with her baby girl.

She choked yesterday and I knew exactly how to deal with it. I was calm and I was confident all because I had the training. A total difference. I dread to think what could have happened if my elder daughter had not been there.
