Tina Turner Makes An Elegant Fashion Statement During Her First Red Carpet Appearance In 5 Years

April is turning out to be the month of big comebacks. Legendary singer Tina Turner is back and makes her first red carpet appearance in 5 years.

Rare sighting

The icon has lived in Switzerland for years now with her German producer husband, Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013 after dating for 27 years. Before she met Bach, she had left an abusive marriage with Ike Turner.

Tina Turner broke away from the duet she had Ike had achieved musical fame with after she fled their hotel on a night in 1976.

She would go on to reinvent herself and her career with great success.

She was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest singers of all time.

The Tina Turner Musical

Turner was in London at the Aldwych Theatre with Bach on Tuesday night. The couple was attending the opening of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, a production based on her life.

True to state, Tina looked stately in black pants paired with black blazers. She completed the look with chic lace and sequin gloves.

She approves!

Speaking about the portrayal of her life with BBC, she said:

Well first of all, it's difficult to see someone else do what we did for 40 years. I'm a perfectionist, so I look a little bit critically.

She went on to praise Adrienne Warren, who played her character in the production.

Warren is known for her work in Dreamgirls, Bring It On: The Musical and Netflix's Orange is the New Black.
