The couple began dating when Dodd was 50. This was after his first long-term partner, Anita Boutin, died from a brain tumor. They were together for 22 years.

Dodd and Jones started dating in the 80s. Before they began their relationship, Jones had appeared on his shows as a dancer. The couple never had children, and it has been reported that they gave up trying after so many disappointments.

When it came to comedy, Dodd can be counted as one of the greats. In fact, he once got a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for the world’s longest ever joke-telling session: 1,500 jokes in three and a half hours.

He will certainly be missed, both by his family and fans who have loved to watch him for so many years.
