Is That A Coming-Out? Lee Pace Reveals He's Dated Men And Women

Lee Pace and Richard Armitage's were probably more than just friends

Lee Pace, 38, is best known for the role of Thranduil in The Hobbit trilogy, where he was starring along with Ian McKellen. Allegedly, because of Ian’s accidental outing, Lee Pace and Richard Armitage have been rumored to be in a romantic relationship with each other.

Crazy fans even created the special hashtag, #RichLee, for photos, drawings, and fanfics of Pace and Armitage “love story.”

Actor's opinion on sexual identity matter

There have been no comments from actor about his sexual identity until now. The actor shared about his sexuality in a recent interview. Lee made it clear that he is against any kind of labels, adding that he has dated both men and women.

The latest actor’s part was as Joe Pitt in the Tony Kushner masterpiece Angels in America. It is the first Broadway revival of the iconic gay play since the original run back in the 90s. Lee also took part in Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart, in 2014.

Lee tells about the importance of gay actors playing gay roles:

Our understanding of what it means to be gay is just so different. It's culturally different. It's just so much further down the road. It's an interesting thing for me to think about in this moment while working on this play.

He also continued with a comment on his personal sexual orientation:

I don’t know why anyone would care. I’m an actor and I play roles. To be honest, I don’t know what to say — I find your question intrusive.


Nowadays, actor lives alone on a self-built farm with just his pets, three hens and Joe Pitt, a closeted Mormon, who's keeping him spiritual company.
