'She's Done!' Has Cameron Diaz Retired From Acting To Focus On Life As A Stay-At-Home Wife?
She's well known for starring in hits like 'Charlie's Angels', 'There's Something About Mary', and 'The Other Woman'. But did Cameron Diaz say acting goodbye?
The gorgeous and versatile actress
From comedic roles to action flicks, Cameron Diaz has managed to do it all. The stunning beauty went from being a model to one of the most popular actresses in the world.
Born August 30, 1972, Diaz started modeling when she was just 16 years old. Her first foray into acting was when she got a role in 'The Mask' with Jim Carrey. Since then, she has starred in a wide array of films, especially in romantic comedies.
Is she done?
Well, if the words from her friend are to be believed, then it seems we'll no longer see Diaz in movies.
45-year-old actress Selma Blair said the Annie actress was done with the film industry. Blair mentioned that Diaz has no plans to return to the big screen.
Blair, who starred alongside Diaz in The Sweetest Thing said at the Oscars Vanity Fair pre-party:
I had lunch with Cameron the other day, we were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron's retired from acting, she's like "I'm done".
She went on to say that Diaz is enjoying her life right now, and the blonde beauty did not need to make any more films.
The last time Diaz was on a film project was in 2014 when she played the role of Miss Hannigan in 'Annie'. Since then, she has been on some kind of hiatus, and many wondered if she ever returns.
She is reportedly saying goodbye to the movie-star life, so she can focus on spending time and building a home with musician husband, Benji Madden.
The happy couple
Diaz and Madden's whirlwind romance made headlines for several months. It was in January 2015 that the public found out they were engaged. Before then, people did not even know that they were dating.
Less than a month after Madden popped the question, they were married. And it was reported that they were together for less than a year before the engagement happened. So, at the time of the wedding, no one really knew much about Diaz's rocker beau. But thankfully, the actress later cleared things up in an interview.
Diaz knew Madden's sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, and even the brother, Joel Madden. But she and Benji never really crossed paths. During an appearance on Andy Cohen's Radio Andy, she said:
The first thing I said when I first met my [would be] husband was, 'He's hot,' How come I didn't know this before? We had never been in the same circle.
The pair immediately hit it off, and Diaz explained that it was one of those situations where she just knew he was the right one.
You know, nothing matters now that I have my husband. Like, I don't even remember any of that. All of that is like, that's the thing, that's how I know he's my husband...No one compares. Everything else just like washes and slips away. You realize like, 'Oh this is like the real thing is. This is what real love is. This is what real commitment and devotion is. This is the person you build your life with.
From what it sounds like, Cameron is deep in love with her man, and it makes sense that she would want to devote her time to him.
