Vanity Fair Report Alleges Melania Never Wanted To Be First Lady

Popular women's magazine Vanity Fair published a piece alleging that the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, never wanted her current position. The explosive report stated that Melania had encouraged her husband, Donald Trump, to run for office, even though it was "not her thing" but "Donald's thing." This was because she had gotten tired of his indecision about whether or not to get involved in politics. Melania apparently did not expect that her husband would win the election, and was unexpectedly thrust into the position. The report cites many longtime friends and associates of the Trump family, including Donald's ex-wife, Ivana,  who all seemed to agree on one thing: Melania was not well suited for the role of First Lady. It also quotes an anonymous longtime friend of the Trump family, who stated:

This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen.

Melania’s tenure so far as First Lady remains secretive as it is not clear how she spends her time. The article also speculates on the state of the Trump marriage, which is supposedly troubled. Signs of the troubled marriage include her delayed move to the White House and the fact that the first couple lead separate lives.

Trump Defends Wife Via Tweet

After the publication of the report, President Trump jumped to the defense of his wife via his favorite medium of communication, Twitter. In the tweet sent on Tuesday, he stated that:

Melania, our great and very hard working First Lady, who truly loves what she is doing, always thought that “if you run, you will win.” She would tell everyone that, “no doubt, he will win.” I also felt I would win (or I would not have run) - and Country is doing great!

Melania Debunks Reports

Prior to the president's defense of his wife, Melania, through her communications director, Stephanie Grisham, on Monday, debunked the reports and stated that:

Once again part of the liberal media, this time Vanity Fair, has written a story riddled with unnamed sources and false assertions. As a magazine tailored to women it is shameful that they continue to write salacious and false stories meant to demean Mrs. Trump, rather than focus on her positive work as First Lady and as a supportive wife and mother.

It is quite obvious that the Trumps have put up a united front in debunking all reports and allegations about their marriage and that Melania is reluctantly occupying her role as First Lady.
