Saved by an angel

Seven-month pregnant Miriam Lujan attended that event. When the shooting started, she also tried to find cover. In the midst of the mayhem, 52-year-old Sue Ann Cornwell did the incredible.

The total stranger offered a backpack to cover her belly, then she used herself as a body-shield to cover Lujan against the hail of bullets that was raining down.

Thankfully, both Cornwell and Lujan survived the deadly shooting. And for the first times since the incident, both women met at the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden. But Lujan was not alone. She came with her baby, 4-month-old Xander.

It was a beautiful sight to behold. Cornell was bursting with excitement when she saw Lujan approaching. Cornell hugged both mother and baby and even calmed Xander down when he cried a bit.

As for Lujan, she was extremely grateful to Cornell and her sister who protected her and kept her safe during the shooting.
